Hello,

This is my first post, and the first post in the Support forums. I didn't know if this was the appropriate section for my topic, but I have a question related to the game developers: Moon Game Studios.

Since this is an awesome project (I really love the video!) I am wondering if there are any positions open within your company. If the answer is 'yes', what kind of positions are open? I did notice the e-mail on front of the Warsoup website, but I am still wondering what kind of positions are available at this particular moment. Are these solely design / programming positions?

Thanks for your time!

- Robert

I'm with him. It would be awesome if I could get on this project.

Hello, thanks for your reply!

On a side note: my expertise is not really designing, graphics or programming. My experience varies from marketing, sales, PR and community management in the gaming industry. That is why I am really curious if Moon Game Studios has open positions for those areas.

What I really wonder, though, is how do you guys get in the industry? I currently have no resume because I have no idea where to break in (and because I'm kinda young). I have a lot of experience with Unity 3D (that's how I found this in the first place), but nothing to really show for it.

We're currently looking for a really talented network coder who has a ton of experience with implementing good netcode. We'd want someone who already did that on at least one shipped title. That person will be working closely with our lead programmer, Gennadiy.

Other than that, we don't have any open positions at the moment. I'll let you guys know when something pops up.

I understand where you're coming from, but that's sorta what I mean. Every job out there you need prior experience for. Where's the first job? Ah, but I rant...

Edit: And as a side note, I HATE network coding.

I'm soon to finish my associates in game design, but then I'll be shooting for a communications major. This game will probably be released before I'm done.

Thanks for the quick reply! Unfortunately, like I stated above, my expertise is not in coding but mainly focused at the business side of gaming companies. Hopefully some positions in those particular areas will open soon!

I'm sure there are firms out there that will hire if someone has a portfolio of independent projects to display along with a formal education - or even an informal one provided a person is able to show quality work in that independent portfolio.

What kind of portfolio / education do you have in the industry? (Even if you do not have any experience with a company, it might be a good idea to find an independent project whether it be a map, a game mod, or even a full-fledged game.)

I have a prototype game made (it was mainly so I could get used to the unity engine, and show off my mad skillz), but right now I'm working on a TBS/RPG, rather not get into detail since the legal isn't done though.
